Richard Newell McCormick

Richard Newell McCormick, 76, of Keewatin, passed away peacefully Tuedsay, June 20, 2017 in his home.  Richard was born on December 13, 1940 to Newell and Mary (Mihelich) McCormick in Chicago Illinois.  As a child Richard had spent his summers on the Iron Range.  He graduated from Chisholm High school, and relocated here permanently in 1989.  Richard was a Marine veteran and enjoyed hunting and shooting.

Richard is survived by his daughter Jeni (John) Childs, and two grandchildren Michael and Sara Childs all of Keewatin, MN; one brother Mickey (Lenny) Karl of Libertyville, Illinois, and one great-grandson Nathan Burleigh.  He was preceeded in death by his beloved wife Arlene (Lodygowski) McCormick in 2001, and both of his parents.

A private burial was held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing with Military Honors accorded by the Mid-Range Honor Guard.
