Robert D. Adamson, age 82 of Nashwauk, passed away Wednesday, September 25, 2024, at his home. He was born February 14, 1942, in Grand Rapids, MN to Clifford and Tyyne (Mickelson) Adamson.
Robert was a 1960 graduate of Greenway High School. Following graduation he attended Dunwoody College in Minneapolis. In 1964, Robert was drafted into the US Army, he served in Vietnam and was honorably discharged in 1966. Following his discharge from the military, Robert worked in Minneapolis in the tool and dye trade.
On October 29, 1966, he was joined in marriage to Sandra Ross. They lived in Minneapolis until 1976, when Robert began his employment at Hibbing Taconite, where he would work until his retirement in 2001. In 1978, Sandy and Robert welcomed their son Ryan. Robert was a member of Nashwauk Lutheran Church, the Cloverdale Garden Club, and the Pasty Crew at Nashwauk Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, golfing, curling, fishing, hunting, snowmobiling and spending time outside. Robert also coached Chisholm little league and hockey.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sandy, son, Ryan (Valerie), brothers, Jack (Helen), William (Susan), the apples of his eye, grandchildren, Ciri and Hunter, Josh, Lauren, Madison, numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Henry.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, October 5, 2024, at Nashwauk Lutheran Church in Nashwauk. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the beginning of the service at the church. Interment will be at the Nashwauk Cemetery.
