Robert Allen Fluguear

Robert A. Fluguear, 69, longtime resident of Hibbing died Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm, MN.  He was born to Mathew and Jennie Fluguear in Cambridge, MN.  Coming from Isanti, MN, Robert resided in Hibbing for over 40 years.  He was employed as a grader operator at Minorca Mine.  He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing, and a very active member of American Legion.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, coin collecting, gardening, and most of all, volunteer work.  If you needed help he was always there no matter the circumstance.  The joy of his life was his nieces, nephews, and his great-nieces and nephews.  They were most important to him.

He is survived by his brother, Richard Fluguear, mother-in-law Arlene Thompson, sisters-in-law Carol (Terry) Lee, Eva (Neil) Mayer, 6 nieces and nephews, Denise (Dave) Persson, Brian Lee, Jenny (Dave) Lindula, Stacy (Jeremiah) Kasten, Julie Goldman, and Colleen (Jack) Jones, ten great-nieces and nephews, Taylor, Madison, Isabelle and McGuire Persson, Landyn and Logan Lindula, Gabe, Abby, and Isaac Kasten, and Kyle DesRosier, and his brother-in-law, Irvin (Sue Ellen) Thompson.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Dolly in 2007, parents, Mathew and Jennie Fluguear, sister, Joyce Goldman, three brothers, Jim, Jerry, and Bill Fluguear, and his father-in-law, Ralph Thompson.

Funeral services for Robert will be 1:00pm, Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Thursday.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
