Robert Hall

Robert “Bob” George Hall, 84 formerly of Hibbing MN, Ely MN, and Cut Bank, MT died in the Marshall, WI home of his son, Bobby and his family. Many referred to Bob as “The Boss”. He was born November 4, 1939, in Virginia, MN and graduated from Hibbing High School with the class of 1958. In Hibbing, Ely, and Cut Bank, Bob was a manager with the JCPenney Company and served them in numerous capacities before his retirement in the 1990s. Bob was an avid card player all his life and also an owner of Hibbing’s Dumas Billiards in the 1960s where he could enjoy his passion for pool. It is rumored that he declined a match with Minnesota Fats back in the day. A winning game of cribbage against the Boss required flawless play and card luck. Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Avenell Irene (Tappe) Hall (1986), and parents, Robert Hall and Jennie Mary (Altobelli) Hall. Robert is survived by his three sons, Michael John (Anne) of Palm Beach, FL, Thomas Charles of Saint Paul, MN, and Robert James (Trish) of Marshall, WI as well as his sister, Carol Jean Severson of Andover, MN and brother, Charles Leonard of Chisholm, MN. Additionally, Bob is blessed with numerous grandchildren: Michael’s son Christopher Warner Hall of New York City, NY and daughter Whitney Osgood Hall of West Palm Beach, FL; Tom’s son Dylan Fitzgerald Hall of Saint Paul, MN and daughter Laura Jean (Nick) Rabiipour of Huntersville, NC; Bobby’s son, Robert Michael Hall of Madison, WI and daughter Alicia Sue (Dustin) Schimmel of Columbus, WI. Further, the great-grandchildren include, Payton Michael Schimmel, Raiden Arthur Schimmel, Brinlee Avenell Schimmel, Jade Alexander Rabiipour, Eli Kuhns Rabiipour, Rose Pari Rabiipour, and Otto John Rabiipour. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at Dougherty Funeral Home in Hibbing. Visitation will be from 12 noon until the beginning of the service at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
