Robert D. Johnson, 83, Hibbing, formerly of the Twin Cities and Sartell MN, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm.  He was born on November 19, 1933 to Oscar and Mayme (Peterson) Johnson in Huntersville Township near Menagha, MN.  He Robert proudly served his country with the United States Army.  He was self employed as a drywaller for many years.  He enjoyed woodworking, reading, watching baseball, deer hunting, and especially going to L & M on a daily basis.
Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley Johnson, Hibbing, four children, Doran (Andrea) Johnson, Morrisville, PA, Robert Johnson, Hibbing, Darcia Johnson, St. Cloud, MN, and Stacie Johnson, Hibbing, six siblings, Joyce (Tracy) Johnson, Washington, Gloria Juntenen, and Glenda Downer, both of Menagha, MN, Marlene (Arnold) Tangen, New Hope, MN, Dean (Sherry) Johnson, Blaine, MN, and Jeanette (Marvin) Jurva, Pelican Rapids, MN, five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two children, Darren and Brook Johnson, parents, two brothers, Lloyd and Dennis Johnson, and a sister, Betty Cowle.
Funeral services for Robert will be 11:00am, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  Steve Tomberlin will officiate.  Visitation will be from 10:00am until the 11:00am funeral service at the funeral home on Wednesday.  Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
