Robert C. Swanger, 67, lifelong resident of Hibbing, died unexpectedly on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in Hibbing.  He was born on August 7, 1945, in Fairmont, MN.  Robert served his country proudly in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War.  He entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Donna Krtinich on May 22, 1970, in Hibbing.  He was employed as an Assistant Superintendent of Maintenance with National Steel Pellet Company, retiring in 2003. He loved spending time at his cabin on Beatrice Lake with his family and friends.  He enjoyed, taking long walks at the lake with Sunnie, his faithful companion, blueberry picking, hunting, fishing, and gardening.
He is survived by his wife, Donna (Krtinich) Swanger, Hibbing, his three children, Mike (Sandy) Swanger, Hibbing, Maggie Swanger, St. Paul, MN., and Sara (Tom) Williams, Inver Grove Heights, MN., his mother, Evelyn Musolf, Wenatchee, WA., several siblings, and four grandchildren; Lexi Sanders, Madi Sanders, Blayke Rae Swanger, and Luke Robert Williams.
Funeral services for Robert will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing.  Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate The Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be in the church on Wednesday from 11:00am until the 12:00 noon funeral Mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Assumption School Building Fund or to the Fairview University Medical Center Infusion Clinic.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
