Ronald F. Broker
Ronald F. “Frankie” Broker, 63, Hibbing, died Fri. Aug. 5, 2016, in his home. He was born July 1, 1953, in Hibbing to Frederick and Elizabeth Broker. He grew up in Pengilly, MN and then moved to Hibbing where he graduated from Hibbing High School. Following graduation he served in the Marine Corp during the Vietnam War, stationed in Okinawa. He returned to Hibbing and started work for Eveleth Taconite in 1977. He would have retired after 40 years of service this March of 2017 from UTAC mining. Frankie loved his cars and gun collection. He also loved hunting and fishing, going to gun shows, or hanging out with Darrell Godin and other good friends. He was a smart, funny and generous person who loved his family very much. To his older sisters and brother, he was their “Little Frankie”.
He is survived by his stepson, Cameron Brotherton, of Scatoose, OR; his siblings: Nancy Broker Thompson of Redwood Falls, MN, Sheryl Broker of Tarpin Springs,FL, Robert of Virginia, MN, Deb (Mike) Williams of Iron Mtn., MI Lori Broker Craig of Scandia, MN and Michael Broker of Hibbing; his special aunt, Bertha Lightfoot, of Albuquerque, NM; uncle “Smokey” Smith of Racine, WI; step mom, Arlene Broker, of Hibbing; several nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews; cousins; and his very good friends Darrell Godin of Buhl, MN, Bill Jaglowski, Hayward, WI, and Kim Holman of Hibbing.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nadine Hathcock; his brother, Charles Broker and his nephew, Kenneth Beaudreau
Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Saturday, August 13, 2016, at Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will be in the funeral home Saturday from 12 Noon until service time. Burial, with military honors accorded by the Mid Range Honor Guard, will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
