Rose M. Marsh, age 96 ½, and lifelong resident of Hibbing, died peacefully Monday, September 18, 2023 at Cornerstone Villa in Buhl, MN.

She was born January 13, 1927 to Andrew and Helen (Rose) Versich in Hibbing. Rose attended Hibbing schools and graduated from Hibbing High School. A homemaker and caregiver, Rose lived a vibrant life that was dedicated to her family, including her two brothers. Her grandkids were her full-time job! She was a fantastic cook and baker. There was always enough food on the table, and she enjoyed entertaining anyone who paid her home a visit. During her active years, Rose was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church in Kelly Lake.

She is survived by her three children, Lawrence (Mary Bovitz) Marsh, Tim (Pam) Marsh both of Hibbing, and Lisa (Dave) Tamminen of Rosemount, MN, along with her sister-in-law, Betty Versich of Hibbing, and five grandchildren, Justin (Bridget) Marsh, Laura (Ryan) Olson, Travis (Hana) Marsh, Ashley (Brad) Willis, and Derek Tamminen. She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Brody and Bryer Willis, and Remy and Lainey Olson, along with many nieces and nephews.

Rose was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, grandson Clint Marsh, her parents Andrew and Helen, and two brothers, Edward and Andrew Versich Jr.

Funeral services for Rose will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, September 29, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Chisholm. The Rev. Fr. Paul Strommer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral Mass at the church on Friday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Rose’s family would like to send a sincere thank you to Cornerstone Villa and Fairview Range Hospice for the exceptional care she received toward the end of her time on earth. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
