Samuel J. Sample, 75, Hibbing, died Sunday, April 8, 2012 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth.  He was born in Clearlake, SD to Wilbur and Lillian Sample on June 27, 1936.  He moved to Hibbing from St. Paul in 2005.  In St. Paul he was employed as a Custodian and Security Guard.
Samuel will be missed by his wife, JoAnne, four children, Linda (Andrew) Marker, Shoreview, MN, Steven Sample, Hibbing, MN,  Scott Sample, St. Paul, MN, and Laura (Christopher)Kraskey, Red Wing, MN,  four siblings, George (Audrey) Sample in South Dakota, Ruth Lyman, Pine City, MN, Lilllian Filius, Aurora, MN, and Paul (Karen) Sample, Mahtowa, MN, 5 grandchildren, Jennifer, Anthony, Travis, Alexander, and Emily.  He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Jean Sample.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm. Friday April 13, 2012 in the Wesley United Methodist Church with the Rev.  Terry Tilton officiating.  Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Thursday in the Dougherty Funeral Home and continue Friday in Church at Noon.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Military Honors will be accorded by the VFW Post 8510 Honor guard.
