Shannon M. Paulsen, 47, Hibbing, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in her home with family by her side. She was born Dec. 6, 1968, in Hibbing, to Tom and Dianne Mousseau. Shannon graduated from Hibbing High School and Bemidji State University. She was united in marriage to Jim Paulsen on June 12, 1993 and they made their home in Hibbing, where she worked as a pre-school teacher at Open Arms of Grace. Shannon was very active with Hibbing Volleyball Booster Club and the Junior Olympic volleyball program.
She is survived by her husband, Jim Paulsen, of Hibbing; by three daughters: Miranda, Michele, and Emily Paulsen, all of Hibbing; by her parents, Tom and Dianne Mousseau, of Hibbing; by brothers Darin Mousseau of Hibbing and Scott Mousseau of Chisholm; and by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, including Marie Henrikson, to whom she was very close.
Visitation will be Monday April 11, 2016, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Hibbing, from 9:30 AM until the 11 AM funeral service. The Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate.
