Sharon Lee Gill, Age 72 formerly of Duluth MN passed away on June 2, 2022. She was born on June 24,
1949 in Grand Rapids MN to John and DeLaine Shea.
Sharon was born without the use of her eyes but that didn’t stop her from learning and being an
adventuress in all she applied herself to do. Her family expected her to learn and become an
independent person.
Sharon was 3 years old when she received her first children’s toy piano to learn to play. She had a love
of music. She played the piano and the accordion. She played in the country show in Aurora for many
years with her uncle as the guitarist and also with her husband Ed who loved to sing. She also donated
her time after retiring to the Essential Health Cancer Center. She would play the piano 2 to 3 times per
week. She was also very active as a pianist for the Elim Church. She loved her time with the
congregation at the church.
When Sharon was about 5 years old her family moved to Oregon. While growing up she went to school
at the Oregon School for the Blind. When she was a sophomore in high school she returned to her
home in Riddle where she attended the Riddle High School and graduated in 1968. She then moved to
Duluth MN to further her education and receive job training. She began her education at the
Lighthouse. She also received training to become a medical transcriptionist. She worked as a medical
transcriptionist for 28 years.
Sharon is preceded in death by her husband Ed Gill, brothers-in-law Michael Gill and Jerry Gill, sister in
law Joann Polzin, parents John & DeLaine Shea, and brother Pat Shea.
Sharon is survived by her Aunt Eunice Plagemann, Rick (Deb) Gill, Lynn Gill, Sandy Gill, Kim Shea and
many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Services will be held on July 30 th at 11:00 am at: Maple Hill Cemetery 12057 Hwy 169 , Hibbing MN

Celebration of life will be held at approximately 12:30 pm at: Valentini’s, 31 W Lake St. Chisholm MN
