Sharon D. Saari

Sharon D. Saari, 74, of Nashwauk, MN, passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth, MN, on January 4, 2025.

She was born in Grand Rapids, MN, on March 11, 1950, to Carl and Lavon (VanRiper) Holm. Sharon graduated from Grand Rapids High School and not long after married her husband, Aro Matt Saari, on August 14, 1970. She loved watching football (especially the Vikings), watching her favorite gameshows and playing games. Sharon also enjoyed going to Wizard's and of course her smokes and coffee. According to her grandson, she was a fish slayer back in the day. Above all she loved spending time with her friends and family. Sharon was an amazing grandma, and she will be greatly missed.

Sharon is survived by her children Todd (Della) Saari, Trisha Warner and Tina (J.) Henderson, siblings Pauline (Tim) Erven, William Holm and brother-in-law Gus Saari, grandkids Donovan Saari, Domonich Chacich, Amanda Anderson, Anthony (Devon) Warner, Morgan Anderson, Mariah (Turner) Nichols, Alexander (Audrey) Henderson and Isacc Schumacher, great grandkids Packston, Estraya, Katie, Otto, Ashton, Charlotte, Caroline and Samson, dear friend Chris Hanson and her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lois Valtinson and her beloved sister's and brother's-in-law. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at St. Mary's Oncology Unit for their outstanding care.

There will be a celebration for Sharon and Aro Matt at Wizard's Bar and Grill on Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 1-4 PM with Miliary Honors at 2:30PM.
