She attended Lincoln School in North Hibbing and graduated valedictorian from her Hibbing High School class of 300 in 1942. She participated in many activities in high school and fondly remembered serving as a tour guide for visiting guests and as proud to show them such a beautiful school. She volunteered as a candy-striper at the Hibbing Hospital and attended Hibbing Junior College.
She married Roger C. Lin December 8, 1944 and stayed in Hibbing while he joined the army an served in the South Pacific.
They had two children, Tom and Barbara and Roger worked as a fireman and she worked as a secretary/bookkeeper at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
She enjoyed her high school friendships all of her life, especially the “sewing club”. When her husband died she remarried (to Gilbert Letourneau) and moved to Ely, MN. Upon his death she moved back to Hibbing and her good friends.
Sigrid loved “the cabin” and lake activities, visiting with her large family and spending time with children and grandchildren. She had a beautiful singing voice and could remember the hymns of her youth well enough to sing even though conversations were challenging n later years.
She is survived by her son Thomas( Sharon) Lind, Chisholm, and daughter Barbara (James) Crow, Decorah, IA, 6 grandchildren Thomas Lind, Kristi Loisel, Daniel Craw, Bonnie Kosloski, John Craw and Elizabeth Siemens, 8 great grandchildren and brother Wayne (Joyce) Bantarri of Aurora, and sister Ina (Tom) Backman of Two Harbors, MN.
