Sonya Marie Peroceschi
Sonya M. Peroceschi, 64, Hibbing, began her journey on Sunday, December 16, 2012, in her home. She was born July 15, 1948, in Cloquet, MN to Joseph Hill and Adeline Kegg. Sonya was united in marriage to James Peroceschi in 1967 in Hibbing. Sonya had worked many jobs in her lifetime, including at the Hibbing Social Security Office, Northwest Reservation Center in Chisholm, for the phone company, as a foster parent and as a telemarketer. She also owned and operated Popeye’s Restaurant in Hibbing and traveled Northern Minnesota with her fried bread concession booth.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, James Peroceschi, of Hibbing; a sister, Alice Hill Carter of Houston, TX; brothers Robert Hill, Damian (Sandra) Badboy of White Earth, MN, Frank Hill Daniels, Charles Albert Davis, and Jon Weaver of White Earth, MN and Thomas Galatz of Hibbing; an uncle, Amos Wiese; aunts Dorothy Kegg Sam and Joan Thompson; nephews: Christopher Carter, Harley Carter, Dakota Badboy, Luis Delgado, Arturo Delgado, Stephen Tietz, Jon Paul Weaver, Alacksander Carter, Jonathan Carter, Christopher Robin Carter, Braedyn Carter, Eli Wade Bolin, and Ethan Wyatt Bolin; nieces: Adeline Badboy, Buffy Carter and Evea Willow Bolin; by numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and by numerous foster children.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents Lizzie Mitchell Kegg Wiese and John Badboy; an aunt, Delores Bush, and a brother-in-law, Lewis Carter.
Visitation will be Tuesday December 18, 2012, from 6—8 PM in Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing, and also for one hour prior to the 9:30 AM Traditional Native American Funeral Service on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in Dougherty Funeral Home.
