Sophie J. DeMillo

Sophie J. DeMillo, 92, Hibbing, died Wed. Dec. 30, 2015 in her home.  She was born in Chisholm, MN on Oct. 30, 1923 to Peter and Sarah (Karna) Kusniryk.  She married Joseph A. DeMillo on Feb. 23, 1046 and was married for 45 years until his death on March 20, 1991.  She had worked at the Hibbing Community for 20 years as a secretary.  She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the National Catholic Society of Foresters, the VFW Post 8510 Auxiliary and several bridge circles.

She is survived by her 3 beloved sons: Patrick of Northglenn, CO, Paul (Emilie) of Baltimore, MD and Gene (Connie) of White Bear lake, MN, 3 grandchildren: Christopher DeMillo, Elizabeth Landers and Zachary DeMillo.

She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her parents her brother William and her sister Amelia Moir.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday Jan. 4, 2016 in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.  The Rev. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be in the church on Monday from 10 a.m., until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing.
