He is survived by his wife Roxine, his children Tammy (David) Koerpel of Woodbury, MN, Becky (Jeff) Lavere of Port Huron, MI, John Olsen of Chisholm, MN, Nicholas Michael of Minneapolis and Zachary Michael of Portland, OR, his brother Glenn (Kathy) Liesmaki of Cherry, MN, his sister Wendy (Joel) Mattson of Hibbing, his grandchildren, Fintan Koerpel, Andrew Persig, Chelsea Seiwert, and Amanda and Madison Goff, 2 grandchildren Melody and Penelope, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters; Sherry Macho, Priscilla Liesmaki, Kathie Novak and Crystal Villeneuve.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time in the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cherry Cemetery, Cherry, MN.
