Steven Vincent Christy

Steven V. Christy, 59, longtime resident of Hibbing and formerly of Aberdeen, SD died unexpectedly Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Virginia, MN.  He was born on January 12, 1959 to Jack and Phyllis (Vincent) Christy in Elgin, Illinois.  He entered the Sacrament of Marriage with Cindy Hochhalter on December 15, 1979 in Ipswich, SD. Steve was employed in the construction industry working for Gridor Construction, and later with Rice Lake Construction retiring four years ago.  He loved riding his bicycle with friends, and cross country skiing as favorite pastimes.  He also loved spending time with his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Christy, Hibbing, his two sons, Vincent and John Christy both of Hibbing, his mother, Phyllis Christy, Mankato, MN, four grandchildren, Sierra and Soleija Christy, and twin boys, Ivan and Troy Christy, seven siblings, Mike Christy, Salt Lake City, UT, Joel Christy, Washburn, ND, David (Jessie) Christy, Tuscon, AZ, Linda (Pat) Murdoch, Flagstaff, AZ, Karen (Brian Groh) Christy, Mankato, MN, Julie (Chris Sample) Christy, Tuscon, AZ, and Carmen (John Just) Christy, Mankato, MN, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his twin infant daughters, father, Jack Christy, and brother Tim Christy.

Funeral services for Steve will be held 11:30 am, Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  The Rev. Steve Tomberlin will officiate.  Visitation will be from 9:30 am until the 11:30 am service at the funeral home on Saturday.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
