Susan K. Spence, 67, Hibbing, died unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born on March 1, 1948, to Peter and Frances (Healy) Spadaccini in Hibbing, MN. She graduated from Hibbing High School and was a lifelong resident of Hibbing. She loved caring for her grandchildren and attending their programs and sporting events. She also enjoyed taking rides with her husband, Jack, on the Harley, traveling, camping, spending time at the cabin, jet skiing, and fishing. She was very passionate about animals and making donations to the animal shelter.
Susan is survived by her husband, Jack Spence; three children: Gina (Todd) Olson, Lisa (Jess) Cooley, and Shane (Jamie) Spence; five grandchildren: Kade & Ava Olson, Brooklyn Cooley, and Taylor & Jared Spence, all of Hibbing; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Carol Ann Sullivan.
Per Susan’s request, there will be a private memorial held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Hibbing Animal Shelter. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
