Sydney “Syd” T. Faulkner, Jr.
Syd T. Faulkner Jr., 51, lifelong resident of Pengilly, died Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Essentia St. Mary’s in Duluth, MN. He was born on November 19, 1962, to Sydney Sr., and Jewell (Sletten) Faulkner in Minneapolis, MN. He was employed as a mechanic with Hibbing Public Utilities. Syd loved fast cars and loud guitars, and anything with a motor that would go fast! He enjoyed shooting pool, karaoke, and especially spending time with his family and friends. Flying was also very important to him as a pastime.
He is survived by his wife Annette Faulkner, Pengilly, MN; children: Rebecca (Harlan) Tardy, Nashwauk, Collene (Nathan Wheeler) Faulkner, Keewatin, Greg Kuusisto, Nashwauk, MN, and Stephanie (Jeremy Munger) Faulkner, Marinette, WI; his mother, Jewell Faulkner, Pengilly; sister, Gail Faulkner, Virginia, MN; nine grandchildren: Chance, Bailey, Anna, Tayea, Rhiannon, Johnnie, Gaige, Joah, and Wyatt; and by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Sydney Faulkner Sr., in 2001.
Funeral services for Syd will be held at 1:00pm, on Friday, September 26, 2014, at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the 1:00 PM funeral at the funeral home on Friday. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
