Syliva L. Kasper
Sylvia L. Kasper, 66, Pengilly died Friday, October 17, 2014 peacefully at home. She was born on September 21, 1948 to Harold and Helvi (Hendrickson) Filpula in Grand Rapids, MN. Sylvia grew up in Buck Lake and attended Nashwauk-Keewatin schools. A homemaker by trade, Sylvia married George Kasper on December 2, 1967 in Nashwauk. After their marriage, Sylvia and George lived on the family farm for seven years, later moving to Pengilly where they lived for the past 41 years. Sylvia was an avid flower gardener and was always adding new perennials. She knew her flower names by heart and was always willing to lend her gardening tips to others. She enjoyed crafts, painting, and making cards. She enjoyed watching movies, especially the “old westerns”. Sylvia was also an avid reader, sometimes having three books going at once. She liked living by the lake and listening to the loons. Sylvia was also a person who loved all kinds of birds. She would feed them year round and watch them on a regular basis. She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling to the cities to be with her daughters and the grandchildren. Her husband was her soul mate and friend and wherever you saw Sylvia you would see George.
