Terrance "Terry" Arthur Huusko

Terrance "Terry" Arthur Huusko, 75, passed away on Thursday, February 20th, 2025, at the Hibbing Hospital, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on April 20th, 1949, in Virginia, MN, to Arthur and Mary Louise (Jantunen) Huusko.

Terry graduated from Virginia High School in 1967, where he stood out as a dedicated student and a talented athlete, excelling in hockey, football, and track. After high school, he attended the Air Force Academy and later the University of Minnesota, where he earned his Doctorate in Dentistry. Following his education, Terry returned to Hibbing, where he established his own dental practice. He became a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in May 1974 and was a devout and active member throughout the years. Though he retired in December 2008, he continued to assist dental offices across the state. 

After retiring from dentistry, Terry enjoyed keeping active and had a deep passion for curling; spending countless hours at the rink. Terry devoted himself to his family and friends and his greatest joy came from spending time with his family. He was always quick to lend a helping hand and offer life advice and guidance. Terry deeply cherished his role as a grandfather and his love for his grandchildren ran deep. He could be seen at nearly all of his grandchildren's volleyball, hockey, skating, and baseball events; grinning with pride and happiness.

Terry is survived by his children, Lindsay (Todd) Stachon, Mandy Huusko, and Ian Huusko; his five grandchildren, Kylee, Ella, Mikko, Lila, and Niklas; his siblings, Connie Fossum, Robin Thompson, and Scott Fowler; his former spouse and lifelong friend, Marilyn; his siblings-in-law, Linda, Elaine, Ron, and Bobbie; his dear friends, Charlene Gabrielson and the Wilson Family as well as many nieces and nephews. 

He was preceded in death by his mother; Mary Louise Fowler; stepfather, Don Fowler and his sister, Lorretta Huusko.

The Funeral Ceremony in Terry’s honor will be held at 12:00 PM on Thursday, February 27th, 2025, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing, MN, with Pastor Kevin Olsen officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 am until the beginning of the service at noon at the church.
