Thomas "Tom" H. Lind

Thomas H. Lind, 62, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Friday, February 28, 2025, at his home in Hibbing. He was born September 27, 1962, to Richard and Lillian “Jeanne” (Louhi) Lind in Hibbing. 

Tom was a hardworking man throughout his life, starting at a young age with the family business Lind’s Sand and Gravel, where he continued throughout his life as time allowed. Tom worked in the construction field, beginning with Twin Ports Testing following his education in Hutchinson, MN. He worked for several years at Ulland Bros. and ended his career at Mesabi Bituminous. He was a proud member of the Local 49er’s International Union of Operating Engineers as a crusher operator. 

He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were some of his favorite pastimes. He was happiest when spending time with family, entertaining and cooking. 

He is survived by his two sons, Steven (Lindsay) Lind, Danville, CA, and Kenneth Lind, Hibbing, MN; three sisters, Mona (Dave) Jones, Buhl, MN, Sue (Randy) Allen, Lakeville, MN, and Maria (Scott) Zahorik, Mt. Iron, MN; his sister-in-law, Netty Lind, Hibbing, MN; three grandchildren, Tanner, Kellen, and Barrett Lind, all of Danville, CA; along with many nieces and nephews.

Tom was preceded in death by his son Wesley Lind in 2002, brother David Lind, and his parents Richard and Jeanne.

Funeral services for Tom will be 10:30 am, Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. Ed Vesel will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 - 10:30 am, at the Funeral Home on Thursday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.
