Tiffany Marie Skalsky, 36, of Hibbing, Minnesota, passed away on June 8, 2019 peacefully in her sleep at home surrounded by her loved ones.
Tiffany was born in Hibbing, Minnesota on May 11, 1983. She graduated from Hibbing Senior High School. After graduation, she attended cosmetology school and tended bar at various establishments where she built forever friendships and charmed a legion of patrons with her quick wit, easy laugh, and openness.
Tiffany’s famous work ethic eventually led her to owning her own business, Hair Tank by Tiffany, and becoming a Sunlights Balayage Artisan Team Educator (a fitting title for a woman whose presence taught the rest of us about being bright and warm).
Despite her busy schedule, family and friends were Tiffany’s greatest passion. She loved vacationing in Florida, going to the beach and concerts, shopping, bartending at the Armory, and camping with those she loved. She trained for walking, kayaking, and biking treks with her Project Athena survivor family, who were all dear to her heart.
Tiffany’s crowning achievement was becoming a mother to her two beautiful daughters, Aysia and Abryana. She loved spending time with them and watching them grow, from volleyball bleachers, from the lakeshore, and from folding chairs at family barbeques.
We will remember the fight in Tif every time the sun shines.
Tiffany is survived by her longtime partner and former husband, Christopher Skalsky; her daughters, Aysia and Abryana; her brothers, Troy (Amber) Silvia and Jesse Thompson; her stepfather, Jerry Thompson; her nieces, Faith, Kylee, and Evelyn; her grandmothers Joyce (Richard) Inkman and Helen Silvia; and numerous additional loving relatives and close friends.
Tiffany is preceded in death by her mother, Tamara; her father, Mark; her grandfathers Gene Singleton and Joseph Silvia; and her beloved business partner, Jim Pucel.
The memorial service will be held at 12:00pm on Friday, June 14th at Open Door Church in Hibbing, Minnesota officiated by Pastor Roland Weaver. Visitation will be held prior to the service at 10:30am. Burial will follow in the Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up for Tiffany’s children at the Hibbing Coop Credit Union under Tiffany Skalsky Memorial.
