Tillie Christina (Olson) Bazzachini
Tillie C. Bazzachini, 98, Hibbing, died Sunday, October 23, 2016. She had no fear in death knowing she would be with her Lord and Savior. She died at home surrounded by her family. Tillie was born on March 23, 1918 to Oscar and O’Lena (Markusen) Olson in Bear River, MN. Tillie married Ralph Hocking in 1940 and was widowed in 1941. She married Armand Bazzachini in 1944 and was again widowed in 2000. Tillie was a homemaker, Boy Scout Leader and very active in her church, Our Savior’s Lutheran of Hibbing. She always put family and friends before herself and was charitable to many organizations over the years. She was known for her great sense of humor and had a quick wit. She really enjoyed bingo, going to garage sales, and an occasional trip to Fortune Bay. Recently she learned how to use an ipad and was also on Facebook, keeping track of her family members.
She is survived by four children, Ralph (Kay) Hocking, Bovey, MN, Kenny (Judy) Hocking, Hibbing, Andrea Plucinak, Duluth, MN, and Gayle (Jim) Luce, Olympia, WA, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren and one on the way. They, and all of their friends lovingly called Tillie, “Grandma Buzz”.
She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 st husband, Ralph Hocking, 2 nd husband, Armand Bazzachini, twin grandsons, 4 brothers, and 5 sisters.
Funeral services for Tillie will be 1:00pm, Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Kevin Olson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Tillie’s family would like to send a sincere thank you to Fairview Home Health Care, and the FRMC Staff for the outstanding and loving care she received over the past few weeks. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
