Timothy H. “Homer” Manney, 55, Hibbing, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2012 surrounded by his family at the Fairview University Medical Center in Hibbing. He was born in Hibbing to Robert and Joyce Manney on June 28, 1956. Homer graduated from Hibbing High School in 1974. He started working at Manney’s Shopper at age 10 and became a full time employee in 1973. He retired in 1997 as Chief Executive Officer overseeing the company that grew to include 7 weekly shoppers, a commercial web division and the job printing department. After his retirement he went into commercial real estate. He loved his cabin and was an avid outdoorsman serving as Chairman of the Hibbing/Chisholm Chapter of Ducks Unlimited from 1988-1990.
He is survived by his wife, Debra, two children, Tifanie (Dan) Koski, and Hunter Manney both of Hibbing; his parents, Joyce Manney, Hibbing, and Robert (Barb) Manney of Las Vegas; siblings, Linda Kelly, Blaine, Terri Rutstein, Mpls., Doug Manney, Mpls., and Bobbie Manney, Hibbing; his ½ sister, Taylor Manney, Las Vegas, one grandson, Gauge Koski, Hibbing.
A private family service will be held. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
