Tony Joseph Dombeck
Tony J. Dombeck, 84, Hibbing, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at Maple Manor Health Care and Rehabilitation Center, Rochester, MN. He was born in Carson Lake near Hibbing on February 13, 1932, to John and Catherine (Unkovich) Dombeck. Tony boxed and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War and later worked in local mines. He worked construction for many years as a member of the Teamsters Union and then was self-employed in the telemarketing business.
Tony is survived by three children: Thomas (Wendy) Dombeck of Everett, WA, Nancy Fondurulia of Circle Pines, MN, and Joseph Dombeck; by sisters-in-law Kay Dombeck of Plymouth, MN and MaryAnn Dombeck-Anderson of Ft. Meyers, FL; 8 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and one on the way; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his 1 st wife, Dorothy (Erchul) Dombeck in 2003, 2 nd wife, Elizabeth, in 2010; by his parents; by a sister, Jean Dombeck; and by brothers George and John Dombeck.
Funeral services for Tony will be held 11:00am, Friday, April 1, 2016 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church Hibbing. There will be no visitation. The Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery, Hibbing, with military honors accorded by Mid-Range Honor Guard.
