Verner J. Denne
Verner J. Denne, 87, Nashwauk, died Friday, October 05, 2012, in his home, surrounded by his family. He was born in Freeport, MN on Feb. 8, 1925, to Herman and Anna Denne. Verner was united in marriage to Vera Rohde on June 3, 1947, and they made their home in Nashwauk. He had worked as a truck driver for Butler Brothers Mining Company and was a member of St .Cecilia’s Catholic Church. Verner was known for his woodworking skills and especially for his wooden toys.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Vera Denne of Nashwauk; 3 children: Richard (Karen) Denne of Keewatin, MN; Caron (Jim) Lukken of Silver Bay, MN; and Kathleen (Gary) Pulis of Mounds View, MN; 6 granddaughters: Laurie (Mike) Kelley, Lisa Breuer, Denise (Shane) Petrich, Sharon (Jake) Christianson, Jessica (Tony) Hanson, Kathryn (special friend Justin Sarff) Denne; 1 grandson, Jason (Carol) Denne; 13 great-grandchildren: McKenzie Kelley, Caitlyn Kelley, Brianna Kelley, Elizabeth Breuer, Hannah Breuer, Maggie Breuer, Sofia Breuer, Connor Petrich, Aidan Petrich, Bryce Denne, Morgan Hanson, Bazel Hanson, and Evan Hanson; a sister, Angeline Peterson of Nashwauk, MN and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings Alfred Denne, Ralph Denne, Gilbert Denne, Robert Denne, Emil Denne, Raymond Denne, Clarence Denne, Ervin Denne, Frances Muellner, and Ida Swatfager.
Visitation will be Tuesday October 9, 2012, from 12 Noon—1 PM in St. Cecilia’s Catholic Church, Nashwauk.
