Vernon A. Niedermeier

Vernon A. Niedermeier, 87, Hibbing, died Sat. Jan. 21, 2017 in the Cornerstone Villa, Buhl, MN.  He was born July 31, 1929 in Hibbing, the son of Merle and Esther Niedermeier.  He joined the Navy and served 8 years before returning to Hibbing where he worked at Eveleth Mines until his retirement as a service truck driver.  In his free time Vernon spent time in his flower garden and going to the lake in Nevis, MN.  In his later years, he spent time taking care of his favorite buddy, “Lucky” his pet cat.

He is survived by his sister Patricia Gehrke of St. Francis, MN and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by wife Clouette, his daughter Jennydell and sisters; Nancy Hill and Joyce Hillman

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, Jan. 27, 2017 in The Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  Visitation will be in the funeral home from 11 a.m. until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.  Military honors will be accorded by the Mid-Range Honor Guard.
