Vincent R. Skalsky, 75, Hibbing, died Wed. Nov. 6, 2013 in his home. He was born Aug. 3, 1938 in Hibbing to Clem and Elizabeth Skalsky. He married Donna Edwards on Sept. 1, 1956. Vincent had worked for Eveleth Taconite for 32 years retiring as a crusher operator in 2000. When not spending time with the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren that he loved, Vincent loved hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and spending time on the homestead farm in Greeney, MN. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife Donna, his children Richard (Terri) Skalsky, Peter (Marla) Skalsky, Bonni (Greg Whitlock) Skalsky and Sherri Fisher all of Hibbing, his sister Veronica Bozicevich of Eveleth MN, 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. services on Monday, Nov. 11 in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian Lederer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home.
