Viola J. Greenwood

Viola J. Greenwood, 88, Hibbing passed away peacefully, Sunday, September 16, 2018 at her daughter’s home with family by her side.  She was born June 24, 1930 in Park Rapids, MN to Clarence and Agnes (Lien) Robbins.  Viola was united in marriage to Glenn Greenwood on November 1, 1947 in Hewitt, MN.  They moved to Hibbing in 1950.  Viola and Glenn were married for 67 years until Glenn’s passing in 2015.  Viola had many hobbies such as her flower and vegetable gardens, collecting antiques, traveling, going to casinos, and hosting birthday and holiday parties for her family.  Viola was a very caring and loving person.  She will be sadly missed by her dear family and friends.  Viola’s family would like to express a sincere thank you to Fairview Range Hospice, and Dr. Jennifer Pedersen at Essentia.

She is survived by her four children; Debra (Arnold) Makela, Larry (Maxine) Greenwood, Dean (Nancy) Greenwood, and Mark (Wendy) Greenwood, all of Hibbing, sister, Mary (Bill) Rowher, Hibbing, ten grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Glenn in 2015, two brothers, Dean and Ralph Robbins, and her sister, Rose Podominick.

Funeral services for Viola will be 11:00 am, Friday, September 21, 2018 at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.  The Rev. Sarah Fike will officiate.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral service at the funeral home on Friday.  A Private Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing.  Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
