Violet Elizabeth Perry
Violet E. Perry, 92, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Fairview Range Medical Center in Hibbing. She was born on January 11, 1921 to Frank and Amelia (Luketich) Juricich in Hibbing. Violet was a graduate of the Hibbing High School, class of 1938. She went on to work for the Hibbing General Hospital as a nurse’s aide. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, the Tourist Citizens, St. Joseph’s Circle, the Little Flower Circle, N.A.L.C, and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1221. Violet enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, playing cards, and sewing as her favorite pastimes.
She is survived by her son, James Perry, Brooklyn Park, MN., two daughters, Ginny (Jim) Pagel, Cohasset, MN., and Joan (Gary) Vake, Hibbing, MN., her brother, James Juricich, Hibbing, four sisters, Tillie Hansen, Julia Olin, both of Hibbing, Dorothy Andrews, Sun City, AZ., and Marion Tastsides, Duluth, MN., four grandchildren, Tom (Annette) Pagel, Jenna (Dan) Boedigheimer, Amy(Tim) Kalisch, and Andrea (Derek) Minnehan, six great-grandchildren, Lars Pagel, Gus and Grace Boedigheimer, Ella and Paige Kalisch, and Garrett Minnehan, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Amelia (Luketich) Juricich, husband Albert Perry, her brother, Steve Juricich, and four sisters, Mary Pucci, Katherine Juricich, Anne Barrett, and Rosemary Buzzelli
Funeral services for Violet will be held at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, July 17, 2013 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be from 10:30am until the 12:00 noon funeral Mass at the Church on Wednesday. Interment will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the donor’s choice. Pallbearers are; Gary Vake, Jim Pagel, Tom Pagel, Dan Boedigheimer, Tim Kalisch, and Derek Minnehan, honorary pallbearers include; Gus Boedigheimer, Lars Pagel, and Garrett Minnehan. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbng.
