Violet I. Senich (Erickson) (Cox) 94, of Hibbing, passed away Friday, March 22, 2019 at Heritage Manor in Chisholm. Violet was born in Hibbing, MN, November 9, 1924 to Jacob and Amelia (Isaacson) Erickson. As a child Violet fearlessly kept up with her brothers ski jumping on the mine dumps. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Violet moved to Silver Bay with her husband Norman Cox Sr., where she lived and raised her family for ten years. Following the death of her husband she moved her family back to Hibbing where she remained for the majority of her life. Violet was a talented knitter making beautiful afghans and numerous hats. Violet was a great cook and could can just about anything. She also enjoyed spending time at the cabin and gardening. Violet was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Cox Sr. and Joe Senich, parents, Jacob and Amelia, son-in-law, Warren Christenson, daughter-in-law, Janice Cox and 12 brothers and sisters. Violet is survived by her children, Gloria (Rodney) Ruffell, Barbara (Bruce) Iwen, Arlene Christenson and Norman Cox, 10 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held 11 am Thursday, March 28, 2019 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Hibbing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at church. The Reverend Kevin Olson will officiate. Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing. Violets family would like to thank the friends and staff at Heritage Manor for all they have done.
