Violet R. Stimac, 91, long term resident of Hibbing, died Thursday, March 26, 2015, at Franciscan Health Center in Duluth, MN.
Violet was born October 14, 1923, the daughter of Spaso and Yanja (Uzelac) Glusica. She attended Hibbing High School and subsequently was employed in New Jersey. After returning to Hibbing, Violet was united in marriage on February 12, 1945, to Matthew A. Stimac of Cherry, MN.
Violet was a homemaker and also worked for several decades at Feldman’s Department Store in Hibbing.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen (Larry) Poetz and Sandra Sullivan; her grandchildren, Jon (Debbie) Discher, Sondra (Richard) Manzano, Michael (Pamela) Sullivan, and Thomas (Carole) Sullivan; six great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Matthew, in 2004; and six siblings, Mary, Mildred, Eli, Robert, and two infant brothers.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., March 31, 2015 at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Hibbing. The Reverend Father Vladimir Lange will officiate.
Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Hibbing.
