Virginia Gail Krak
Virginia G. Krak, 63, lifelong resident of Hibbing died Sunday, February 9, 2014 peacefully at home after a lengthy illness.  She was born on December 11, 1950 to Joseph W. and Frances (Bonelli) Jerkovich in Hibbing.  She graduated from Hibbing High School, and later achieved a four year Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Minnesota in Education.  She was later employed in Hibbing with I.S.D. 701 retiring as a special education teacher.  Virginia traveled to India where her husband was working and while there she home schooled her daughter Mary Frances.  She was a member of the VFW Post 8510 ladies auxiliary and the M.A.A.  Her pastimes included bowling, reading, and arts and crafts.  She was well known for her “Christmas Spiders” and specialty Birthday cakes. She enjoyed travelling with her niece’s volleyball and basketball teams.
She is survived by her husband, Joseph Krak and daughter, Mary Frances Krak, both of Hibbing, her siblings, Sharon (Donald) Bapp and twin Patricia Jerkovich, both of Hibbing, Joseph (Carol) Jerkovich, St. Cloud, MN, and Mary Beth Chamernick, Hibbing, her three nephews, Travis Church, Jacob Jerkovich, and Joey Chamernick, all of Hibbing, two nieces, Shevaun Church, Mexico City, Mexico, and Breanna Chamernick, Hibbing, a great-nephew, Taylor Jerkovich, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.  She was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Jeannie Jerkovich.
Honory pall bearers are Travis Church, Jacob Jerkovich, Joey Chamernick,  Shevaun Church, Breanna Chamernick and Taylor Jerkovich
Funeral services for Virginia will be held at 11:00am, Friday, February 14, 2014 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Hibbing.  The Rev. Fr. Brian Lederer will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial.  Visitation will be from 5-7pm, Thursday, February 13, 2014 at the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing with wake prayers at 6:30pm.  The visitation will then continue at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church one hour prior to the funeral Mass on Friday.  In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the Hibbing Catholic Community. Arrangements are with the Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
