Walter A. Oberstar
Walter A. Oberstar, 89, Hibbing, died Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Guardian Angels Health Center with his family by his side.  He was born in Hibbing to John and Mary Oberstar on May 21, 1922 and graduated from Central High School in Duluth.  He was a self employed Carpet Layer, working through many furniture shops including Burgstead’s and Ace Furniture.  Walter was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.
He is survived by two sons, Patrick W. Oberstar, Hibbing, and Walter P. (Clark McDonald) Oberstar, Mpls., MN, and a sister, Jeanne Martin of Hibbing.  Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Dolores Oberstar in 2004.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am., Thursday, March 8, 2012 in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Gabriel Waweru celebrating the Mass.  Memorial visitation will be from 6-8 pm. Wednesday in the Dougherty Funeral Home with Parish Wake Prayers at 7:30 pm.  Visitation will continue Thursday, in Church starting at 10:00 am.  Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 2025 E. River Pkwy., Mpls., MN  55414.
