Wayne R. Monson II, 53, Hibbing, died with his family by his side on Monday July 11, 2016 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Duluth. He was born to Wayne and Jane (McCormick) Monson in Long Beach, Calif. on August 29, 1962. He was a US Air Force Veteran having served in Germany. Wayne was a member of the Minnesota Skilled Construction Laborers Union Local 1097.
Wayne will be missed by his wife, Robyn, children, Bethany (Scott) Nelson, Chisholm, Christopher Erickson, Chisholm, Jacob Erickson, Hibbing, sister, Sheila (Delwin) Maki, Hibbing, brother, Tim (Dayle) Monson, Palmdale, Calif., grandchildren, Ethan Shackelton, Regan Shackelton, and Abby Nelson, nieces and nephews, Jesse Monson, Shawn Monson, William Richison, Victoria Kosluchar, Erika Huffer, Emily Porter, and Casey Stone. Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, James Monson and Kelli Cool.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm. Friday, July 15, 2016 in the Dougherty Funeral Home with visitation one hour before the services. Military Honors will be accorded by the Mid-Range Honor Guard.
