Wayne D. Taylor, 66, Hibbing died Sunday, March 29, 2015, at his home in Hibbing. He was born on October 29, 1948, to Burgess “Bert” and Magdalen (Zweibohmer) Taylor in Webster City, IA. A graduate of Hibbing High School, Wayne continued on to Eveleth Vocational Technical School for two years. He was later employed as a welder and shear operator with Electric Power Door for 43 years of service. Wayne was united in marriage with Linda Thornburg on July 19, 1969, in Hibbing. He had been a resident of Hibbing for over 55 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Hibbing, Hibbing Moose Club and he was a fixture at The Homer Bar. He enjoyed fishing, model cars, and watching movies with his children.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Taylor; three children: Becky (Lance Williams) Taylor, Andrew Taylor, both of Hibbing; and Robin (Josh) Kleve, Freeport, MN; five siblings: James (Sue) Taylor and Robert Taylor, both of Hibbing, John (Donna) Taylor, Oklahoma City, OK, Pat (Dave) Anderson, Coon Rapids, MN, and Harold (Lisa) Taylor, Pine City, MN; three grandchildren: Abby, Olivia and Avery; his special pet, “Dexter;” and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a son, Anthony W. Taylor on Jan. 3, 1985.

Funeral services for Wayne will be held at 11 AM, Thursday, April 2, 2015, at Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing. The Rev. Mr. Raymond Sampson and Rev. Greg Stevens will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the 11 AM service at the funeral home on Thursday. Interment will be in Maple Hill Cemetery of Hibbing. Arrangements are with Dougherty Funeral Home of Hibbing.
