William Berklich

May 17, 1931 — July 11, 2017

Bill Berklich, 86 lifelong resident of Hibbing, MN, died peacefully with family by his side on July 11, 2017 in Hibbing, MN.

He was born May 17 th 1931 to Francis and Manda (Rukavina) Berklich in Hibbing, MN.  After graduating from Hibbing High School in 1949, Bill continued on to further his education at University of Saint Thomas, St. Paul, MN.  On November 8 th 1952, Bill received the sacrament of marriage when he married Ethelmae Connors.  Bill was the owner of the Hibbing Liquor Store for twenty-four years and was an Industrial Sales Representative for B. Miller Products for 27 years. Bill’s hobbies were trap shooting, golfing, snowmobiling (National Snowmobile World Record Holder 1990) hunting, fishing, curling, gardening and Viking season ticket holder for forty years. He aspired to be healthy, travel and took joy in cooking for his family and friends.  Bill was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Elks Club, Algonquin Club, Mesaba Country Club, Vanderbilt Beach Country Club, Board Member and officer of the Hibbing Trap Shooting Club.

Bill is survived by his three daughters, Diane Berklich Tucker (Terry), Peggy Berklich Evrard (Rick), and, Tracey Berklich Nate (Doug); three grandchildren Alex Evrard, Lauren Evrard and Jack Nate; three nieces, Carol Eidam Bartek, Kim Berklich Caspino and Kristen Berklich Doble.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister Helen Sikich Eidam; brothers, Jack Berklich and Rudy Sikich.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m.  Saturday, July 15 at the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with Father Gabriel Waweru officiating.

Visitation will be one hour prior to mass at the church.

Interment will be at Maple Hill Cemetery.

Memorial donation may be made to Hibbing High School Restoration Fund in care of Bill Berklich.
