William Arthur “Wild Bill” Hagadorn
William Arthur “Wild Bill” Hagadorn, 83, of Kelly Lake in Hibbing, MN, passed away peacefully on Oct. 17, 2015 with family by his side. Bill was born to Edward and Cora Hagadorn on Dec. 13, 1931 in Hibbing. He was a lifelong resident of Kelly Lake where he attended school and was a proud member of the volunteer fire dept. Bill enjoyed all sports and had played and coached youth hockey. Most of all he enjoyed NASCAR and going to the Hibbing Raceway on Saturday nights to root for his favorite Laker drivers. He worked for Yeshe Transfer for 25 years and the BN Railroad for 45 years until his retirement. After his retirement he and his wife Elnor enjoyed spending their winters in Mesa, AZ.
He also enjoyed being at his cabin on Island Lake relaxing and hunting with his boys and grandchildren. He spent many joyful afternoons arguing with his great granddaughters Savanna and Lily (The Little Boss). He never won.
Bill is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elnor, sons tSeve (Michelle) of Britt, MN, Larry (Diane) of Andover MN, David of Phoenix, AZ, daughter Sharon (Currie) Lantz of Hibbing, 9 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a son Billy.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2015 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing. The Rev. Fr. Nick Nelson will officiate. Visitation will be in the funeral home from 10 a.m. until service time. Pallbearers are: Shaddy Ruzich, Ken Knutson, Currie Lantz, Buster Mortenson, Adam Lantz, Nick Hagadorn and Dan Hendrickson. Honorary pallbearers are: Steve Radika, Jerry Roberts and Cliff Jones. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
