Woodrow "Nick" Francis Wedge

April 7, 1945 — April 6, 2024

Woodrow Francis "Nick" Wedge, 78, of Nashwauk, MN, passed away peacefully
at home with family at his side on April 6, 2024. He was born on April 7, 1945, in
Hibbing, MN, to Woodrow W. and Frances (Skalsky) Wedge. Nick grew up in
Keewatin and graduated from Nashwauk Keewatin High School. He married Sarah
Parvi on October 17, 1964. Nick worked for National Steel Mining starting as a
maintenance mechanic retiring as a maintenance foreman after 30 years.
Throughout his life, Nick built four homes including his current earth home, just
south of Buck Lake. Nick enjoyed flying, had his pilot's license and had built his
own ultralight plane. He was an animal lover, especially his dogs.
He was a member of the Buck Lake Improvement Center. Nick and Sarah were
Buck Lake First Responders for 18 years. Nick was known as the “guy” to call when
help was needed or something needed fixing. Nick is survived by his wife Sarah,
children Holly (Bruce) Lundgren, Hope Wedge, and Jason (Tricia) Wedge, brother
Jerry (Loretta) Wedge, grandkids Hayley, Olin and Anneka Lundgren and Nikolas
Wedge and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to the Fairview Hospice team for
their excellent care.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Saturday, April 20th, 2024, from 1:00 to 4:00
