Yvonne M. (Jerkovich) Thronson

Yvonne M. (Jerkovich) Thronson, 64, Hibbing, MN, died Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015 in her home.  She was born July 26, 1951 in Hibbing to Michael and Mary Jerkovich. Yvonne had owned and operated Mary’s Café in Hibbing and was known for her delicious pasties.  She moved to Menominee, MI where she prepared meals at the Bay Area Medical Center. When not spending time with the grandchildren she loved, Yvonne liked to spend free time outdoors.

She is survived by her children, Gregory Alan (Wendy) Thronson-Westby of Menominee, MI, Joseph Alan Smith of Duluth, MN and Anna Marie (Nuny) Smith of Duluth; her brother, Michael C. (Marcy) Jerkovich, of Hibbing; sisters, Frances (Fred) Erickson of Chisholm, MN and Sandra J. (Donald) Johnson of Taylors Falls, MN; 14 grandchildren: Alexandra Thronson-Westby, Donovan Thronson-Westby, Christian Thronson-Westby, Gregory Thronson-Westby Jr., Hunter Thronson-Westby, Isarah Thronson-Westby, Christopher Powell, Serena Powell, Sierra Powell, Giana Moore, Dominic Smith, Victoria Smith, Elijah Smith and Caleb Erdman; her special friends Theresa,, Dennis & Rose, and Sue; along with numerous special nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Clifford.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, 2015 in the Dougherty Funeral Home, Hibbing.  Visitation will be in the funeral home Friday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.  Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery.
